Environmental Action Policy

As part of its corporate activities, the SANKYO Group is committed to continuously contributing to a better global environment by working to reduce its environmental impact.

Initiatives toward Climate Change

Based on the TCFD recommendations, our policy on the risks and opportunities posed by climate change to our business describes our initiatives and structures in terms of governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets.

Promotion of reuse and recycling

The Group is dedicated to promoting the recycling of pachinko and pachislot machines to make effective use of resources and reduce environmental impact. We have achieved a high recycling rate of over 90% for pachinko machines and over 80% for pachislot machines.

From the design stage, we work to increase the use of recyclable parts and the percentage of common components to reduce the loss of components, so that the specifications are easier to recycle. We make active use of low-priced reuse models that are expected to be as effective as new models. These measures not only promote recycling but also benefit from cost reduction. SANKYO Group will further deepen its efforts to reduce environmental impact and improve management efficiency.

Efforts to Utilize Renewable Energy

At SANKYO, as part of our initiative to utilize renewable energy, we installed a PPA-based photovoltaic system on the roof of our subsidiary SANKYO EXCEL’s plant. We aim to reduce CO2 emissions by using the electricity generated there. From November 2023 to March 2024, we reduced CO2 emissions by approximately 117 tons.

Standardization of Components

The SANKYO Group is committed to reducing material waste by promoting the standardization of components across pachinko and pachislot machine models and brands. Currently, approximately 46% of the components in our pachinko machines and 75% in our pachislot machines are standardized. We will continue our efforts to further increase the use of common parts.

Other Environmental Initiatives

The Group is actively engaged in resource efficiency efforts, including the adoption of LED lighting and the digitization of business operations. In addition, we are promoting lead-free substrates to reduce the use of environmentally harmful substances. We are also striving to reduce the use of plated products and promote the use of recyclable materials.
